MORGAN TOWNSHIP — Darrell Connor’s 11th “Nashville on the Lake” will be held Saturday at Connor’s property at 2585 Clark Road.

Connor annually invites folks to enjoy country music, almost always on the second Saturday in June. Members of Boy Scout Troop 333 of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church will be selling food and refreshments. Proceeds from their hot dog and hamburger sales benefit the troop.

Donated pies, cakes and drinks also will be for sale. The concession stand opens at 6 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m.

The concert is free, and those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Scouts also will be handling the parking, and Connor said parking for the handicapped is available.

The music will be provided by Darrell Connor and the Country Legends Band, with special guest Carolina Rose, daughter of the legendary Bill Monroe.

To reach Clark Road, motorists should travel 2.7 miles past Dan Nicholas Park on Bringle Ferry Road and turn at Liberty Fire Station No. 2.

“We always have a pretty good crowd,” said Connor, who in 2015 won the top adult male vocalist competition at the N.C. State Fair Folk Festival.

Connor, a retired Salisbury Police lieutenant, has been part of the music scene in Rowan County for decades.
