Crime Blotter: Shots fired on West Bank Street

SALISBURY — Residents reported shots fired Wednesday evening at West Bank, West Horah and Institute streets.

According to police, witnesses reported seeing a group of young black men standing in the middle of the road before the shots were heard. Residents told police that the group began shooting, and then the men scattered. Police found shell casings from a .22 caliber gun at the intersection, but were unable to locate any suspects.

  • A woman reported a vehicle stolen from the 1300 block of Bell Street, Thursday.
  • Ijames Deandrae, 22, was arrested Tuesday on a private warrant in the 200 block of Laurel Pointe Circle. He was charged with discharging a firearm into occupied property.
  • Laquan Shaheed Davis, 22, was charged Tuesday with a Grand Jury indictment in the 500 block of Lincolnton Road. According to reports, Davis was indicted for habitual larceny.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

  • A man reported Tuesday that tools were stolen from a home in the 200 block of Waccamaw Drive.
  • A man reported Tuesday that vehicle parts were stolen from a car parked in the 5100 block of Old Concord Road.
  • Dick’s Sporting Goods reported several items stolen Tuesday.
  • Koontz Elementary School reported Tuesday that a tablet had been destroyed.
  • A woman reported a fraud Tuesday in the 2600 block of Mount Hope Church Road.
  • A man reported a burglary and vandalism Tuesday in the 1000 block of Deal Road, Mooresville.
  • A man in the 5800 block of Goldfish Road, China Grove, reported items stolen from a building Tuesday.
  • A man reported an assault Tuesday in the 6000 block of South Main Street.
  • Kirsten Dlugokecki, 24, was charged Tuesday with simple assault in the 200 block of North Main Street.
  • Jermain Antonio Adams, 23, was charged Tuesday with injury to real property in the 200 block of North Main Street.
  • Byron Erik Anderson, 41, was charged Tuesday in the 100 block of McCleave Road, China Grove, with assault on a female.
  • Karena Quincanya Ranking, 18, was charged Tuesday with assault on a government official after she assaulted and bit a detention center officer.
  • Stefanie Earlene Yarborough, 28, was charged Tuesday in the 6000 block of South Main Street with simple assault.
  • Linwood Houston Powers, 31, was charged Tuesday in the 600 block of South Main Street with assault on a female.
