Area Sports Briefs: Intimidators win; Rowan postponed

Zach Thompson teamed with three relievers to shut out the Charleston RiverDogs, 1-0, on Thursday at Riley Park in Charleston.
Kannapolis (21-33) snapped a four-game losing skid despite managing a season-low one hit.

Legion baseball
Rowan County’s scheduled game at Mocksville was postponed on Thursday.
Rowan hosts Jacksonville on Saturday.

West hoops camp
West Rowan Falcon basketball camps will be held on June 13-15 and July 11-13. The cost is $50 for a three-day session. Coach Mike Gurley will lead the camp. Camps are for boys who will be heading to grades 7-9 and for boys and girls heading to grades 2-6.

A.L. Brown varsity boys basketball coach Shelwyn Klutz’s camp for boys and girls will be held on June 20-22 in Kannapolis.
