Moving elderly parent not insurmountable task

One year ago, my family faced the impossible task of moving my elderly parent in Salisbury from a beloved home full of nearly a century of collected treasures to a retirement community. We had no idea where to turn and whom we could trust.

Then we contacted Smart Changes Household Move Management, a small, locally owned company. This phone call was the catalyst that got everything rolling, and the puzzle began to come together. Today, my parent is much safer and we were able to thoughtfully distribute and dispose of furniture, paper and many other household items.

Jo Kearns, owner of Smart Changes, worked with me on-site over numerous trips to Salisbury and was gentle but firm, down to earth and very compassionate toward my elderly parent and her view of this difficult, daunting task. She put her invaluable contacts to work for us.

The move was difficult, but no longer impossible. It was made with amazing grace, and my parent was afforded the greatest of dignity. I recommend Jo Kearns at Smart Changes (704-640-6844, Jo.SmartChanges@Outlook.com, www.SmartChanges.net) to anyone who needs to reorganize, downsize or assist their loved one in a similar, sensitive move.
