Yesterday: Sacred Heart School students take to the stage in 1948
Joe Williams submitted this 1948 photograph of Sacred Heart Catholic School students, dressed in their costumes for several school skits. Williams thinks he was in third grade at the time, and he is the boy sitting front and center, third from the left, with a fake beard. To the right, next to Williams and also with a beard, is Eddie Pring. Williams was able to identify several of the children standing in the middle row, including Patty Shoaf (third from left), Susan Ketchie (fourth), Tommy Thurston (sixth) Nancy Earle Miller (seventh), Christine Kramm (ninth), John Sheehan (10th), Gail Pring (12th), Mary Lou Merritt (13th) and Joe Jones (14th). Father Cletus Helfrich is standing in the back row. Williams says Pring worked for many years in the Sacred Heart School office later in life.
