Moore’s Chapel 

CLEVELAND – Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church, 5890 South River Church Road, will have a musical program today, Saturday, May 28 at 5 p.m. Several local groups will participate. The Rev. Eddie L. Fortson is the pastor.

 

Salisbury Christian Fellowship welcomes new pastor

Salisbury Christian Fellowship welcomes its new senior pastor, Vic Sassano, and his family. Pastor Vic has extensive pastoral experience and delivers the Word of God in an engaging, passionate, practical manner. Vic’s wife, Rhonda, and their three children — Victor (24), Clairissa (19), and Charity (17) — enjoy serving alongside him. The Sassano family is excited about all the fantastic things God is already beginning to do at Salisbury Christian Fellowship. This dynamic church is filled with authentic followers of Christ. Their passion for the things of God, willingness to serve each other, and initiative to pray for not only their church but the community as well, have already captured the hearts of Pastor Vic and his family. The church is located at 210 W Ritchie Road. Sunday services begin with Sunday school at 9:30 a.m., worship at 10:30 a.m., and a Wednesday night service at 7 p.m.

 

Mercy’s Well

Mercy’s Well, a contemporary gospel trio, will present two free concerts on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 11  a.m. at Milford Hills United Methodist Church, 1630 Statesville Blvd.

 

John Calvin Presbyterian Church

Beginning on Sunday at 10 a.m. the John Calvin Presbyterian Church adult Sunday school class  that meets in the old fellowship hall will be be reading and discussing “The Screwtape Letters” written by C.S. Lewis. The writings are a correspondence between two devils, Screwtape and his young nephew, Wormwood. The class will look at how Lewis delves into questions about good and evil, temptation, repentance and grace.

The church is located in front of the Hefner VA Medical Center on Brenner Ave.

 

At The Cross Ministries (ATC

At The Cross Ministries (ATC) hosts its  Friends & Family celebration on Sunday at 10 a.m.,  followed by lunch. Speakers will be Elder Edna Coleman and Pastor Debra Ellison (sisters and ministers of the gospel) with music provided by the Power In Praise (PIPs) Youth ministry.

ATC, 1915-1917 W. Innes St. Suite 103, is celebrating six years of service to the community.

Second Presbyterian welcomes veteran

Second Presbyterian, 732 Lincolnton Road, will have a special Memorial Weekend service at 11 a.m. on  Sunday with guest speaker the Honorable Retired Max C, State Aviation Safety Officer. His text will be the story of David and Bathsheba and his sermon is titled: “My Favorite War Story”.

Dry’s extensive military career includes six years in the US Army and 33 years in the National Guard. He took part in the 71st Assault helicopter Company in Chu, Lai, Viet Nam, totaling 858 combat flying hours. He served as an instructor pilot, maintenance officer/test pilot for UH-60 Blackhawk, flight examiner and safety officer.

 

Pastor Appreciation Service

The officers and members of Cedar Grove AME Zion Church will honor pastor Rev. Dr. Bertha E. Pittman  and First Man William (Bill) Pittman on Sunday during the 11 a.m. service.  The speaker will be Barbara Fortson, the First Lady of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church of Cleveland.

 

Gloria Dei

Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Statesville Boulevard will be holding its first outdoor church service on Sunday at  11 a.m. on our church lot, two houses over, same side as the church.

The youth of Gloria Dei have worked hard on maintaining the lot and have placed four benches and a cross for the outdoor services, weather permitting. Dress casually and bring chairs if you wish, as the benches have do not have backs to them.

 

Bethel Power of Faith 

Apostle Charlene Kellam of Bethel Power of Faith Ministries will speak on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mount Zion CME, 124 Lloyd St. Host pastor is Beverly Rose.

 

New Bethel Baptist Church

MOCKSVILLE — New Bethel Baptist Church, 3727 Hwy 601 South, will be honoring its senior members for their years of service and dedication to the work of the church and community. The appreciation service is Sunday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. V. Patrick Jones, senior pastor of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, as guest speaker.

 

Grace Deliverance Tabernacle

Grace Deliverance Tabernacle, 1237 Old W. Innes St., (Salisbury Women’s Club), will celebrate Apostle and Elder Trueblood’s 38th pastoral anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Special guests include Bishop Ronald Hash from Love Christian Center in East Spencer, and Sis. Tiffany Trueblood, a well-known songstress from One God One Thought Center For Better Living of Lancaster, Pa. Emmcee for the servive will be Elder Eric Susong from Mount Calvary Holy Church in Salisbury. An anniversary dinner will be served after the service.

 

Fifth Sunday Singing with the Chapeleers

Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2300 Bringle Ferry Road, presents The Chapeleers in concert on Sunday at 6 p.m.

 

In My Father’s House Outreach Ministries
