Rowan weather: Showers and warmth

Looks like a warm work week ahead, with a chance of showers on several days, which would help our farmers and home gardeners. Spring is heating up.

After a cool start in the 50s, we will have sunny skies and a high of 80. The wind just won’t give up, and it will blow from the west southwest at 6-11 mph, with gusts up to 18 mph. Tonight will be clear and 58, with south southwest winds around 8 mph.

Tuesday will be sunny, too, and a bit warmer, with a high of 82. Southwest wind will be at 8-11 mph. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms will move in around 3 a.m., and the low will be 52, with southwest wind at 5-7 mph.

Wednesday has a 30 percent chance of showers and storms, mainly after 10 a.m. It will be mostly sunny and warmer again, with a high of 85. South southwest winds will be calmer, 3-6 mph. Wednesday night has a 40 percent chance of showers and storms, with a low of 63.

It’s a 60 percent chance of thunderstorms and showers for Thursday, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 82. The chance for rain goes down to 50 percent Thursday night, with a low of 61.

The sun returns on Friday, with a high of 82 and a low of 58.

Saturday will be partly sunny with a high of 78. A 30 percent chance of showers arrives Saturday night, with a low of 60.

Showers likely again Sunday, with mostly cloudy skies. The chance of rain is 60 percent, with a high of 76 degrees.
