Rowan weather: Clearing, but windy

We’re starting out cloudy today, but can expect to see some sun later. We’ll have a warm high of 71 and the wind will return, from the south southwest, at 8-13 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.

Tonight brings a 60 percent chance of showers, with a low of 58. South wind will blow at 10-13 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. Little rain is expected, around a 10th of an inch.

A 80 percent chance of showers Tuesday will include possible thunderstorms in the afternoon. The high will be 67, with less wind, from the southwest at 7-10 mph. Up to a half inch of rain is possible.

The chance of rain drops to 40 percent Tuesday night, with a low of 45 and winds shifting to the northeast at 7-11 mph.

Mostly sunny Wednesday, with a high of 62 and more wind, this time from the north northeast at 9-13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The low will be 43.

Thursday should be mostly sunny with a high of 65 and a low of 44.

Friday will be very similar, with a high of 66 and a low of 46.

Saturday, too, should be mostly sunny, with a high of 69 and a low of 48. It will be a good day for the opening of the Salisbury-Rowan Farmers Market.
