Salisbury Police investigating ‘suspicious death’ at apartment complex

SALISBURY — Salisbury Police and the State Bureau of Investigation are investigating what they call a “suspicious death” at Alexander Place Apartments, following a fire call Sunday morning.
At 6:44 a.m. Sunday, the Salisbury Fire Department was called to Alexander Place Apartments at 632 Hamilton Drive in relation to smoke in an apartment.
In its investigation of the smoke, firefighters discovered a body, as yet unidentified, inside the residence.
Fire officials called in police, and a Police Department press release says the death will be investigated with the assistance of the SBI.
