Rowan weather: Storms possible tonight

March is known as the windy month, and we’ll have more of that today, followed by showers and thunderstorms.

It will be mostly sunny today and warm, with a high of 76. South southwest wind will blow at 10-15 mph, with gusts up to 26 mph.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely after 1 a.m. tonight, with a 70 percent chance of precipitation. The low will be 59 and winds will come from the south at 9-14 mph, gusting up to 23 mph.

Some of the storms could become severe, with damaging winds and frequent lightning.

Friday starts off with a 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before noon. It will be a cloudy day, gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high of 73. South southwest wind will shift to the west at around 9 mph.

Friday night will be clear with a low of 45 and north northwest winds around 6 mph.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and a bit cooler, with a high of 56. Northwest wind will blow at 5-7 mph. Saturday night’s low will be 47.

Easter Sunday should be partly sunny and 70, then showers move in Sunday night with a 60 percent chance of rain and a low of 54.

Monday has a 50 percent chance of showers, but will be partly sunny and 72. The low will be 44.

Tuesday and Wednesday should be sunny, with a high of 66 for Tuesday and 67 for Wednesday. Tuesday’s low will be 40.
