The Mount Ulla Elementary School Battle of the Books team won the Rowan-Salisbury County Finals on Wednesday, March 16, at South Rowan High School. Teams from elementary schools in the Rowan-Salisbury School System read 18 books and practiced answering questions on these books in preparation for the competition. Each EBOB team spent many hours of reading and hard work to prepare for the competition.
The team members are Brinley Batts, Lucas Graham, Anna Harrison, Lilly Henriksen, Johanna Jaquez, Parker Jenkins, Brooke Kennerly, and Blake Pope.
North Rowan Elementary School placed second, and Woodleaf Elementary School took home third place.

Sixth grade: Alena Chang, Mohamed Mohammed, Oscar Montoya-Euceda, Qua Shawn Carpenter, Cymora Tapley, Kireyah Evans and Amy Euceda Alvarado
Seventh grade: Jennifer Uribe, Eric Garduno, Dabrell Johnson, DeAnna Arbiaza, Jessica Calkins, Lily Arrowood and Sam Evans
Eighth grade: Zyneyeh Hayes, Angie Ochoa, Honor Belton, Trustan Belton, Michael Hess, Jasmine Moreno and Amanda Morgan
