Police looking for man accused of sex offense

Salisbury Police are looking for a local man who is accused of a sex offense against a 12-year-old girl. Authorities say Eliezer Zaragoza Cruz, 36, is on the run after an arrest warrant was issued.

He is 5 feet 3 inches tall, 135 pounds and has family in Salisbury and Wilmington. The Rowan County Department of Social Services is also looking into the matter. The child was known to Cruz, officials said. Officials say the girl reported the incident.

The offense occurred at a Salisbury home.
