Republican candidates for county commissioner and N.C. House District 77 will participate in a forum Wednesday at Catawba College.

The forum will start at 6 p.m. with candidates for county commissioner. Candidates for State House will have a forum immediately following the first. Wednesday’s candidate forums will only include candidates running in the March 15 primary.

In the county commissioners race, incumbents Mike Caskey and Craig Pierce will face challenger Johnny Love. In the N.C. House District 77 race, incumbent Harry Warren will face challenger Andrew Poston.

Catawba College politics professor Michael Bitzer will moderate both forums. Bitzer will ask questions submitted to the Salisbury Post. Questions should be sent to editor@salisburypost.com.

The forums will be free and open to the public. Both candidate forums will be held in the Tom Smith Auditorium, located in Ketner Hall. They can also be watched on channel 16 and heard on Memories WSAT 1280, WRNA 1140 and WRKB 1460.

The forums are sponsored by the Salisbury Post, Catawba College, WSAT and the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce.
