SALISBURY — Despite rain, snow and ice, construction work on the Wallace Educational Forum is coming to a close. Workers began attaching plates to the building’s dome Tuesday. The crowning dome is one of the final tasks before the building is move-in ready.
Assistant Superintendent Anthony Vann said the system is prepped to begin settling in to its new central office on March 4.
The inside of the building is substantially complete, and the main sidewalk should be poured today. All that remains is the parking lot – which will be paved later this week if the ground dries out from Monday’s ice and rain – and some landscaping.
“It really is going to be a beautiful building,” Vann said. “It’s a great addition for the school system and it’s a great addition for the county and the city.”
