Rowan weather: Cold, windy day; lows in the teens tonight

Hope you have your wool socks and thermal underwear — today is going to be cold and windy, with a high of 36 and a low of 17.

Adding to the cold will be a west southwest wind at 6-11 mph with gusts up to 18 mph, although it will be sunny. Winds tonight will continue from the west northwest at 5-9 mph.

Thursday will be sunny and just a tiny bit warmer, with a high of 39. Winds will blow from the west northwest at 5-9 mph. The low will be 21.

Friday will have a very slight chance of rain between noon and 3. It will be cloudy, with a high near 39. Winds will come from the northeast around 5 mph. Friday night’s low will be 23.

Cold again Saturday, with a high near 35 and sunny skies. The low dips to a frigid 12 degrees Saturday night, so be sure to check your pipes and bring the pets inside. Check on family and friends who might need extra warmth.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with a cold high of 31. Sunday night’s low will be 20.

For Monday, Presidents’ Day, we have a 50 percent chance of rain and snow, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 37. The chance of precipitation remain Monday night, with a low of 29.

And Tuesday also has a chance — 40 percent — of rain or snow with a warmer high of 48.
