Hold on to your hats — the next two days will be very windy, and with colder temperatures, you can tell winter is sticking around.

Today will be partly sunny and around 40 degrees, with winds from the west at 6-11 mph and gusts around 18 mph. Tonight will be a cold 23, with west wind around 6 mph.

Mostly sunny for Wednesday, with a high of 39 and more west winds at 5-14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Wednesday night will be very cold, with a low of 18 and northwest winds at 6-9 mph.

Check your friends, family and pets to ensure they have a warm place out of the cold. Also make sure your plumbing will not freeze, especially since the lows over the next few days will be in the teens.

Thursday will be sunny, but colder, with a high of just 36, and west northwest winds at 5-8 mph. The low will be 19.

Friday’s high under partly sunny skies will be 41, and the low will be 24, so it will be slightly less frigid.

But the cold returns with a vengeance Saturday, with a high of just 37 and a low of 12.

It will be mostly sunny Sunday, but still very cold, with a high of 32 and a low of 18.

For President’s Day Monday, a 30 percent chance of showers creeps in, with a high of just 38 under mostly cloudy skies.
