Rowan weather: Clearing for the weekend

Yesterday’s storms passed quickly, but damage was reported around the county, mostly downed limbs or trees from the high winds.

Things are much calmer now, and should stay that way into next week.

Today we have a 20 percent chance of rain and it will be mostly cloudy. North wind will blow at 3-7 mph. Temperatures will remain steady for a while, in the mid 50s, then begin to drop later today. The low will be 32, with north wind at 5-11 mph.

Friday will be sunny and 48, still with north wind at 7-11 mph. Friday night will be clear and cold, with a low of 27.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 50 and a low of 30.

Mostly sunny again Sunday, with a high of 52 and another low around 30.

A 30 percent chance of showers moves in Monday, but with partly sunny skies and a high of 49. The low will be 29.

Partly sunny Tuesday, with a high of 44 and a low of 25.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high of 38. Snow flurries are possible, but no accumulation is expected.
