The Salisbury City Council will be recognizing the Salisbury High School Men’s Soccer team at its meeting on Tuesday.

The mayor will proclaim Feb. 2 as Salisbury High School Men’s Soccer Day for all of their accomplishments during the season and winning the State 2A Soccer Championship.

According to an article in the Post, the championship win gave Salisbury High its third state title since 2011 and tied the school record for the most victories in a season.

The proclamation to be read by Salisbury Mayor Karen Alexander states that the council is proud of the team “for being outstanding ambassadors of Salisbury throughout the state of North Carolina.”

In other business, the council will:

  • Hear a Highlights and Goals presentation from the Housing Advocacy Commission, Tourism and Cultural Development Commission, Transportation Advisory Board and Tree Board.
  • Consider adopting an ordinance to prohibit parking along a portion of King Street
