A Salisbury teenager was found dead Monday night, the victim of a gunshot wound. Salisbury Police say they’ve developed a person of interest.

On Monday around 7 p.m., Salisbury Police received information that a vehicle connected to a reported missing person earlier in the day was in the area of Park Avenue and Long Street. Police located the vehicle in the parking lot at 311 N. Long St., the site of a group of apartments.

Found inside the vehicle was the body of TaLisha Danielle Crowder, 19, of Salisbury. Crowder’s mother reported the teen missing earlier in the day and police were looking for a 1991 Honda Accord.

Investigators received information that the vehicle was in the area near North Long Street and Park Avenue and found the car. Crowder was found dead inside the vehicle. Police confirmed the car did not belong to Crowder and the incident was not a random act.

Crowder graduated this past summer from the Rowan-Cabarrus Early College where she received an associate degree in arts.

Salisbury Police detectives continue to investigate. No arrests have been made as of Tuesday morning.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-639-5245.
