Waterworks collecting water bottles

Waterworks Visual Arts Center is asking the community to donate 10,000 used water bottles before Feb. 1. The arts center is building a new exhibit titled “Up close and far away: through an environmental lens” that is set to open Feb. 6.

Waterworks is requesting clean, used water bottles only — no soda bottles. While the installation requires a few Deerpark 3-liter bottles, any brand of a regular, 20-ounce water bottle is fine.

Bottles should be rinsed and left to air dry with the lids removed. Once dry, put the lid back on, bag them, and take them to Waterworks at 123 E. Liberty St.

Donations can be delivered to the front desk at Waterworks, and will be accepted only during business hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
