Salisbury Police charged a Salisbury teen with possession of a stolen vehicle after the victim spotted the teen driving the vehicle. The victim told officers his uncle let him borrow his vehicle and it was stolen from the Forum while he worked out around 9 a.m. He said the vehicle was older and he didn’t know who would try to steal it.

The victim called 911 on Saturday to say he’d been driving on South Jake Alexander Boulevard and saw someone in the car pulling out of the Sheetz convenience store around 1:30 p.m. He followed the vehicle to an apartment complex on Pearl Street, off Morlan Park Road.

The victim waited at a church nearby and watched the vehicle until police arrived, said Police Capt. Shelia Lingle. He said four people got out of the vehicle. Police identified the driver as Marterius Azende Robinson.

Robinson, 17,  of the 600 block of Laurel Pointe Circle, said he’d been driving the Toyota for several days and didn’t know it was stolen.

Salisbury Police charged the teen with felony possession of a stolen vehicle. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and remains in the Rowan County Detention Center. He is expected in court today.
