Rowan weather: A cool day for first Christmas parade

Today will be slightly warmer than yesterday, but we’ve still got a frosty start at 25 degrees.

Look for sunny skies and a high of 54. The Southern Rowan Christmas Parade is today, so if you go, wear a jacket. It starts at 3 in Landis and 4 in China Grove. The low will be 30.

Wednesday will be sunny and 55, and will have an east wind at 3-7 mph. The afternoon should be nice for the Holiday Caravan Parade, but temperatures will drop once the sun goes down. The low will be 37, with a north northeast wind around 6 mph.

Thanksgiving Day will be mostly sunny and around 60 — good weather for tossing the football after you stuff yourself. More wind will blow from the north northeast, again, around 6 mph. Thursday night will be mostly cloudy and not as cold, with a low of 44.

Friday will be partly sunny and warmer, with a high of 64 and a low around 46. A nice day for shopping or staying in and avoiding the crowds.

Mostly cloudy for Saturday, with a high of 62 and a low of 41.

A 30 percent chance of rain comes in Sunday, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 52. That chance of rain goes up to 40 percent Sunday night, with a low of 40.

And the new week will start with a 40 percent chance of showers, more clouds and another high of 52.
