An Iredell County man is being held under $75,000 bond, charged with statutory rape.

William Gary Mozeley, 38, was charged Tuesday based on a report the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received of a sexual assault of a child less than 16.

The assault is alleged to have occurred in June 2014. Iredell County Sheriff’s Det. Sgt. Amy Dyson with the Special Victims Unit interviewed the child at the Dove House Children’s Advocacy Center.

Mozeley was arrested and taken before a magistrate, who set his bond at $75,000.
