Animal nonprofit will have adoption event, food drive today

Nonprofit group Shelter Guardians will have a food drive and adoption event today at Uptown Dogs and Cats on Statesville Boulevard.

The event starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. At the event, the Rowan County Animal Shelter and local rescue groups will have animals for adoption. Animals are from the Rowan County Animal Shelter.

The Shelter Guardians Event will be at Uptown Dogs and Cats, located at 2125 Statesville Boulevard in Salisbury. Shelter Guardians is asking those who are unable to adopt to drop off a donation of canned dog food, dry puppy food or dry kitten food for shelter animals.
