Rowan County Literacy Council to hold tutor training workshop

The Rowan County Literacy Council will hold a two-session tutor training workshop Monday, Nov. 30, and Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the Rowan Public Library.

The training sessions will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:45 pm. The registration fee for these two sessions is $25 to cover the cost of materials.

In order to be certified as a tutor, participants must attend both sessions.

Reservations to attend this training may be made by calling the literacy office at 704-216-8266 or by emailing rclc@rowancountync.gov. Make your reservation by Thursday, Nov. 19. Orientation materials will be sent to you on the literacy program and the role of volunteer tutors in helping adults to read or to learn English as a second language.

Adults, 16 years and older, who need help with reading or learning English should also call the literacy office for information on the program.
