When Salisbury Police went to arrest Vanessa Marie Clemons, 28, on Wednesday for failure to appear in court, they weren’t expecting her to run.
According to the report, police went to Clemons’ 2nd Street home after she failed to appear in court. But Clemons didn’t answer when officers knocked on her front door. Officers went around to the back of the house and saw a naked woman run out the back door.
The woman, Clemons, was ordered to stop and officers warned her that she would be shocked with a Taser if she did not comply. Clemons allegedly kept running. According to the report, officers shocked Clemons and she was taken into custody.
She was charged with failure to appear or comply and resist, delay or resisting an officer. She was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond.
Clemons was previously charged in Rowan County with trafficking opium or heroin, larceny and driving with a license revoked. Her most recent charge, from August 2015, is for child abuse.
