The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office has charged two in a July armed robbery.

On July 21, the Xpress Mart in Enochville was robbed by two suspects who entered the store just before 3 a.m.. According to a July 22 newspaper story, both were wearing stockings over their faces. One of the suspects displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cashier.

The two suspects left with about $100 in cash and a pack of menthol cigarettes, according to a previous article. The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office released video and still pictures of the incident to the public during the investigation, and received several tips.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspects in late October. The suspect holding the gun was a 15 year-old boy and the second was identified as Justin Bret Michael Johnson, 16, of China Grove.

Both face charges. The juvenile was referred to Juvenile Court. Johnson is charged with armed robbery and was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
