Garver, Mahaley, Moore right choices in Landis election
As a Landis resident, I hear a lot of citizens complain about their high power, water and sewer bills. One way to lower these bills would be to recruit new businesses to town. Just look around town at all of the empty buildings. If we do get new businesses to come to town they don’t stay open long before they close.
I do believe Landis will be better off if we elect two new aldermen to the board. Alderman Dorland Abernathy will have someone to work with instead of against him.
On election day, I will cast my votes Mike Mahaley for mayor. For alderman, I’ll pick Seth Moore and Tommy Garver.
You might say Seth is too young to hold office. I don’t. We need to have someone on the board with new ideas to improve the town of Landis.
In closing please vote on Nov. 3rd. Yes, your vote does count. Do you remember how close the last two elections were?

Gun-free zones are most likely places to get shot
Mr. Fry spent much of this article on Tuesday, Oct. 27, titled “Guns deserve serious attention,” verbalizing his fears of allowing faculty and students to possess more firearms on campuses for protection.
Of course, we already know and are seeing what happens when you make school and university campuses areas where there are no guns allowed.
Perhaps Mr. Fry should quit worrying about the unknown, and give a little thought to what we already know: “gun free” zones seem to be one of the most likely places to get shot.
It’s seems to me that allowing students and faculty to be armed for protection on campus is one of the only things that hasn’t been tried.
