Christian prayer needed
to enlighten, enhance life

Daily news could be heart-breaking, fearful and hopeless if we did not have our one God, father, son, Holy Spirit and the only written truth, the Bible.

All we have learned in kindergarten and God’s holy Bible will give us all answers we need everyday. As the Bible tells us: seek and you will find, knock and it shall be open to you.

For those not familiar with the holy Bible and the church fellowship, more Christian movies have been available. Christian producers are obviously being led by the Holy Spirit to produce these wonderful, inspiring movies.

A few recent ones include: “War Room,” “God is not Dead” and “Woodlawn.” They will definitely enlighten and enhance your life and your spiritual life.

God created us to be physical and spiritual. Both need to be nourished to work together in harmony to honor God. Our body created by God, I have learned, belongs to God as his temple. We need to treat it accordingly. It took me a long time to realize this.

Seems our worldly people and leadership constantly want to discourage our hope for a better life and future.

As we prayerfully prepare for our presidential election in 2016, we must be aware of God’s promise of the second coming of his son Jesus. Are we prepared in our hearts and our relationship with our savior? Are we in prayer for candidates that Jesus would choose to help prepare all people throughout our nation under God for future times? Do we bury our heads in the sand? Are we easily fooled? What do the scriptures tell us about choosing those in power?

Remember it is important to prepare our children, youth, grandchildren and young adults for future decisions.

Do we consult professionals, God’s word and the Holy Spirit?

Hatred of Obama blinding

The writer is responding to an Oct. 19 letter, “Rant about shootings goes over the edge.”

Thank you, Jack Connery, for your words of wisdom regarding the rhetoric of the right and their venomous untruths about everything, starting with untruths about President Obama.

I am sick and tired of all that, and of how they try to evade the violence going on with all of the shootings, etc. Something needs to be done about both. It is for sure the GOP does not have the guts to try to stop either.

They are so blinded by their hatred of a black president and anything that is different from their misguided beliefs that they cannot see the need for upholding such simple beliefs  as “love thy neighbor as thyself.”  No matter what your religious belief, “love one another” and decency are  possible. May the good Lord protect and defend us from all the venom and hatred!
