Nonprofit group plans fundraiser for animal shelter

A Rowan County nonprofit group will have a fundraiser this weekend to help the animal shelter.

Shelter Guardians will have an art sale starting Friday at 4 p.m. The first day of the art sale ends at 8 p.m. Friday. It continues Saturday at 10 a.m. Saturday’s sale ends at 4 p.m.

The sale will be at 118 S. Main St. in Salisbury.

All works of art are priced $50 or less.

Contributing local artists include Cara Reiche, Carol Dunkley, Connie Peniger, Leslie Hudson-Tolles, Patt Legg, Shelter Guardians Youth of Salisbury Academy and Sacred Heart’s art class. More than 100 pieces of art have already been given to Shelter Guardians for the sale.

All proceeds will benefit animals at the Rowan County Animal Shelter.

Any piece of art purchased at the sale can be framed at Fine Frame Gallery — on South Main Street in Salisbury — for a 15 percent discount.
