SPENCER — A forum for Spencer Board of Aldermen candidates will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Town Hall, 600 S. Salisbury Ave.

The Rowan County Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee is helping to coordinate the forum, with Frank Goodnight moderating.

With Mayor Jody Everhart not seeking re-election, three people are vying for that office: Scott Benfield, Jim Gobbel and Bob Oswald.

Running for alderman are David Lamanno, James M. Boone, Sylvia P. Chillcott, Kevin Jones, Howard J. White, Rashid H. Muhammad and David H. Smith.

Election day is Nov. 3.
