Dick’s Sporting Goods opens Oct. 9

Dick’s Sporting Goods will open its Salisbury Store on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Shoppes at Summit Park.

The three-day grand opening celebration will run through Sunday, Oct. 11. The store will open at 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

On Friday, the first 100 people in line will be eligible for a free Reebok Play Dry T-shirt. Guests who are in line at 7:45 a.m. on Friday will get a chance to open the Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Locker. There is a limit of one T-shirt, mystery gift card and/or gift locker combination per person per day.

Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis will make an in-store appearance from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday. A wristband will be required for autographs and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Saturday and Sunday giveaways include a free mystery gift card from $5 to $500 for the first 100 adults in line. Guests who are in line at 7:45 a.m. Saturday and 8:45 a.m. on Sunday will also get a chance to open the Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Locker.

“We look forward to opening our new Dick’s Sporting Goods in Salisbury and becoming a bigger part of the community,” said Lauren Hobart, executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “We want to serve athletes of all ages by providing the equipment they need to help them excel.”

The new location will feature Nike and Under Armour shops, athletic and outdoor apparel and footwear and gear for team sports, fitness, camping, hunting and fishing.

More than 40 in-store services by Dick’s certified pros in sports and outdoor specialties such as biking, golf and fishing will also be available.
