RSS Board of Education meets Monday
The Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education will discuss buses, funding, attendance policies and more as it meets for a work session 4 p.m. Monday at 110 S. Long St., East Spencer.
Action items on the agenda include changes to the mediated settlement agreement with the county; a second reading of policies on student searches and attendance, changes in policies about contracts and family-medical leave and approval of Sean Walker as the board’s attorney for property closings and related issues.
Discussion and information items include an analysis of the board’s contract with Public Consulting Group for the Easy IEP program.
The board will get updates on the Wallace Educational Forum building project, bus drivers, the budget, bleacher repairs and grant funding.
Policies on student sex offenders, requirements for student re-admission, parental involvement in behavior issues are on the agenda.
The board will hear about implementation of Achieve 3000, the RSS Digital Citizenship Curriculum, its work with Thought Exchange, GEOS Global Monitoring and the China Grove/Landis Christmas Parade.
The board will go into closed session to discuss property in the western area of the county for a new elementary school and a legal matter.
