Theme of the day-long family-friendly event is ‘Memories of Yesteryears’

CHINA GROVE — The Price of Freedom Museum will have a Remembrance of 9/11 ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The whole family friendly day lasts from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the museum, 2420 Weaver Road at the intersection of Patterson and Weaver Roads.

The theme of this year’s free event is “Memories of Yesteryears.” Visitors can look at restored farm equipment and vehicles while listening to Gospel and bluegrass music from local groups. They can also view the progress being made on the restoration of the Patterson School.

Again this year, the program will include fire, police, rescue and emergency equipment. There will be old and new firetrucks, old and new police cars and other equipment on display. They will have the Smoke House for the community to go through, as well as fire safety information for the children.

Barbecue will be available from the We Care Ministry of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Food tickets are available in advance for $7. Call 704-857-3208 to place an order.
