Dick’s Sporting Goods in Salisbury now hiring, schedules grand opening

The Salisbury location of Dick’s Sporting Goods has scheduled its opening for some time in October and is hiring for store employees, according to a news release.

No specific date for the opening has been selected. The news release, however, says the store will schedule a three-day weekend of festivities associated with the grand opening.

In advance of the grand opening, the store has begun hiring for store staff. A news release said about 60 full- and part-time staff will be needed. The number includes management and associate positions.

“Ideal candidates will draw on their personal experiences and in-depth knowledge to guide, inform, equip and inspire our customers,” a company news release said.

In the news release, the company said it will offer competitive pay and store discounts to future associates.

The store is located at 125 Tingle Drive, which is near Interstate 85’s exit onto Julian Road. Dick’s Sporting Goods in Salisbury is part of a new complex at Summit Corporate Center. Hobby Lobby, the store’s neighbor in the complex, scheduled its grand opening for Sept. 7.
