Lincoln Funeral Train comes to N.C. Transportation Museum

Kevin Cherry, LaRae Umfleet and Emily Bame are dressed in period clothes to give the appearance of authenticity as they pose in front of the Leviathan Engine.

The North Carolina Transportation Museum prepares for a large Civil War event which includes reenactors, living history, speakers and cannon fire. A big part of the weekend will include the replica Lincoln Funeral Train. The train is a full- size replica of the train that carried the remains of President Abraham Lincoln from Washington, D.C., to Springfield, Illinois, in May of 1865.
