My Turn: Give us a meeting, Mr. Hudson

“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State.

In a single State, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense.

The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair. The usurpers, clothed with the forms of legal authority, can too often crush the opposition in embryo.”

These words were written by our Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Read them again. Understand the words. Our Founding Fathers were terrified of what our government could become if the rule of law was not followed. I’m here to tell you  that day has come.

Congressman Richard Hudson is avoiding his constituents at any and all cost and is refusing to hold a town hall during this recess of congress. He is refusing to return phone calls and his staff just continues to stall for him.

It’s no wonder he doesn’t want to meet with us. He has lied to us and betrayed us with his votes. Despite taking an oath to defend the Constitution he voted in favor of the NDAA. Congressman Hudson voted for the Cromnibus funding bill against your constituents wishes and said it set things up for a later fight in February against amnesty. You fooled us yet again.

You say you stand for life, yet you have not stated that you would defund Planned Parenthood even after the evil videos have come out showing all the evil going on in that taxpayer funded organization.

You voted for the TPA and sided with Obama and the Democrats. The TPA would facilitate the subordination of the national independence of the United States to regional trading blocs.

You voted to keep funding the NSA and violate the privacy protections of our Constitution. Guess you feel the real terrorist are those Constitution-loving American citizens. ISIS anyone???

I can go on and on about your voting record and how you consistently vote to strip us of our freedoms and go against the desires of your constituents. In case you have forgotten, Mr. Hudson, you work for us, not the other way around.

Instead of popping up here and there for photo ops with donors or pretending to shovel some dirt at the start of a building project or flipping a coin at a ballgame, how about doing what you are supposed to do and allow your constituents to voice their grievances with you at a town hall during this current recess of Congress? You have played hide a seek far too long. Time to quit hiding and face the people.

For the people of the 8th district, wake up! Please call Congressman Hudson’s office and demand he do his job and hold a town hall meeting for us. His local office number is 704-786-1612.

Another Founding Father, Thomas Jefferson, stated “When the people fear the government, there is Tyranny. When the government fear the people, there is Liberty!”

I choose freedom! Who’s with me?
