The location of a candlelight vigil today for Jonathan Pierre Dillard has been changed to the parking lot of Outback Steakhouse. It had been set for City Park.

Dillard, 30, was shot and killed over a week ago and found lying in a Park Avenue driveway. No arrest has been made in his murder, and no motive has been given.

Salisbury Police continue to investigate his death. Friends say the vigil will take place at 11 p.m.

An anonymous donor offered a $500 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the shooting. Dillard was a longtime employee of the Outback Steakhouse, where he was a bartender. He’s also worked at other local restaurants and clubs as a bartender.

His father, James Dobbs Jr., said he has plans to attend the vigil as well as speak further with investigators. Dillard’s funeral was held Friday in his hometown of Columbia, S.C.

Neighbors told police they heard gunshots several hours prior to Dillard’s body being found around 5 a.m.

Family and friends say Dillard was an outgoing and friendly guy.
