According to scanner reports, numerous departments and equipment responded to a structure fire at Performance Fibers at 7401 Statesville Blvd. on Friday night. Units that arrived on scene around 11 p.m. reported heavy smoke showing from Building K.

Performance Fibers’ fire brigade worked with fire crews to assess the conditions and fight the fire. At one point, the fire had reached three floors of the building.

Crews reported that all workers had made their way out of the building safely.

As of 12:40 a.m., the fire was under control.
