Rowan County Homeschool Association annual tea

The Rowan County Homeschool Association will be holding its annual informational tea on July 23 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Stanback Room at the Rowan Public Library Headquarters. This is a drop-in event to learn more about homeschooling in North Carolina, and all that the Rowan County support group offers to homeschooling families.  For more information contact Amanda Stirewalt at amandastirewalt@aol.com.

 

Daniel Wallace sworn in on Kannapolis school board

Daniel Wallace was officially sworn into office as a member of the Kannapolis City Board of Education July 9. He took the oath of office in front of his family and a small group of employees in the Kannapolis City Schools’ boardroom.

Wallace is serving the remaining three years of Millie Hall’s term. The school board selected Wallace on July 6 from three finalists to fill Hall’s seat. He attended his first meeting as a member of the Board of Education July 13.

Wallace is a lieutenant in the Kannapolis Police Department.
