We are so excited that our walker Bishop Dr. George B. Jackson completed 283-mile walk from NC to DC on June 15, 2015.

A welcome back celebration was held on the lawn at Citadel of Faith Christian Fellowship, 108 Salem St., on Wednesday.

There were between 19 and 21 walkers but only four made the entire 283 miles. George Jackson was one of those, along with three college students, Komal, Devin, and Justin.

They ended with a rally on the lawn of the State Capitol with media coverage, Mayor O’Neal and Rev. William Barber speaking. Bishop Jackson gave the opening invocation which also included words and sentiments of the walkers.
