We have only a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today, but the chance goes up to 50 percent tonight, and some of those storms could be severe.
The National Weather Service warns of the possibility of frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, gusty winds and heavy downpours. A few storms would produce damaging wind gusts and hail this afternoon and early evening.
It will be cloudy, becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 88. South southwest wind will blow at 7-11 mph. Tonight’s low will be 67, with rain continuing into Tuesday morning.
The chance for more rain on Tuesday is 40 percent, with cloudy skies that will eventually clear and warm high of 87. The shower and storm chance drops to 30 percent Tuesday night, with most rain before 10 p.m. The low will be 64.
No rain on Wednesday, when mostly sunny skies will allow the temperature to rise to 90 degrees. Calm wind. Wednesday night, the low will be 66.
Thursday will be very similar to Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 90. The low will be 69.
On Friday, that familiar 30 percent chance of rain and storms is back, with mostly sunny skies again and a high of 91. The rain chance is the same Friday night, with a low of 69.
The upcoming weekend will be a warm one, too. Saturday has the 30 percent chance of storms and rain, but it will be mostly sunny again, with a high of 91. Maybe it’s a good thing the high school graduations are early in the morning.
Saturday night doesn’t have a chance of rain, and the low will be 66.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and 90.
