Catawba’s baseball game in the D-II Championships game on Thursday in Cary has been moved up to the afternoon because of the threat of thunderstorms.
Catawba is 2-0 in the double-elimination event. Tampa is also 2-0.
Tampa plays Henderson State, which has one loss, on Thursday at noon.
Catawba plays Cal Poly Pomona, which has one loss, on Thursday at 4 p.m.
Henderson State (Ark.) eliminated Angelo State (Texas) on Wednesday, while Cal Poly Pomona (45-16) eliminated Mercyhurst.
Catawba (46-13) hasn’t played since Monday and has its entire pitching staff available, with the exception of Monday’s starter Sean Grant.
The schedule for Friday will depend on Thursday’s results.

Minor leagues
Oklahoma City’s Corey Seager (NW Cabarrus) is heating up. He hit his first two homers Triple-A homers on Monday and had four hits on Tuesday.

American Legion
Southern Rowan plays Thursday at Davidson County.
Rowan County opens Friday at Newman Park against Randolph County.
Kannapolis is hosting a tripleheader (at Northwest Cabarrus) on Saturday.
Southern Rowan plays High Point at 1 p.m. Rowan County plays Cherryville at 4 p.m. Kannapolis plays Kernersville at 7 p.m.

East baseball camp
East Rowan Baseball camp dates are June 15-20.
Times: 9-2 on Monday-Thursday and 9-12 on Friday. The cost is $125. Lunch will be provided on Friday. Campers bring lunch the other days. Each camper receives a free T-shirt
Competition on Friday with medals to the winner.
Campers get a video of their hitting and fielding.
