Going into the Memorial Day weekend, teachers and 3- and 4-year-old students from the First United Methodist Church Child Development Center took their passion for America to the streets by holding up homemade signs and banners that said “Honk for USA” and “God Bless America.”
The patriotic demonstration happened Friday morning at the corner of West Fisher and South Church streets in Salisbury, and the kids delighted in all the passing vehicles that sounded their horns for them.
The children participating included Hailey Andrus, Paige Miller, Logan Bennett, Clara Adams (the flag bearer) and Lexi Hodges. Their teachers were Dawn Loma and Nancy Garrison.
