1. C. Pamela McDaniel recently testified before the N.C. House Judiciary I Committee in favor of legalizing medical marijuana, which she and her husband seek as a treatment option for their son’s seizures.

2. A. Catawba College removed Wager from its Sports Hall of Fame, into which he had been inducted in 2008.

3. A. Landis and Time Warner have reached an agreement in which Time Warner will pay the town $5.92 for each town utility pole to which it attaches a cable.

4. C.  The Home 2 Suites hotel will be six stories high and sit on a 1.43-acre parcel between the Econo Lodge and Interstate 85’s on-ramp.

5. D. Sacred Heart Catholic students first had classes in the church rectory 133 years ago.

6. C.  The tanker truck crash on Bringle Ferry Road spilled a portion of the tanker’s 8,000 gallons of ethanol, and authorities are wanting to see if any of the ethanol infiltrated a nearby well.

7. A. Collins fills out the unexpired term of Elaine Hewitt, who resigned to take a position in the Rowan Republican Party.

8. B. Goodman has planted the  golden cross of daffodils on the steep slope in front of her house on Bringle Ferry Road for 38 years.
