Rowan weather: Holiday weekend will be cooler

The warm start to today is an indication of what’s to come — we should reach 80 degrees under partly sunny skies today, but beware of the wind, which will blow from the south southwest at 10-16 mph and gust up to 25 mph.

Tonight, a 40 percent chance of rain moves in, with a warm low of 52. Winds will continue, including the 25 mph gusts.

Easter egg hunts should be fine on Saturday. The 30 percent chance of showers is mainly before 7 a.m. It will turn mostly sunny and noticeably cooler, with a high of 63. The wind will shift to the north northwest at 11-15 mph and gusts up to 24 mph. Saturday night will be clear and cold, with a low of 33. Winds will be from the north at 3-7 mph.

Easter Sunday sunrise services will be chilly, but the day will turn sunny and warm up to 65 degrees. Sunday night’s low will be 46.

For the beginning of the week, every day has a 30 percent or more chance of showers.

Monday will be mostly cloudy with the chance of showers after noon and a high near 67. Monday night still has the 30 percent chance of rain with a warm low of 56.

Tuesday has the 30 percent chance of rain, and will be mostly cloudy again, with a high near 74. Tuesday night, same chance of rain and a low around 58.

Wednesday has a 40 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, and will be mostly cloudy again, with a high of 77. Wednesday night the chance of rain is 30 percent again, with a low of 55.

Thursday, too, has a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, more cloudy skies and a high of 69.
