The Kannapolis City Board of Education will discuss potential architects for a new middle school at its budget retreat today.

The district was allotted funds for a new middle school through the Cabarrus County Bond referendum that was passed in November. A new middle school will be built and the current middle school will be utilized as an additional middle school.

The board will also hold a budget workshop, where Will Crabtree, director of business operations, will discuss the district’s budgeting process.

A closed session will be held if needed.

The board will meet tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the district’s administrative office, 100 Denver St. in Kannapolis.
