Hollins University Dean’s List

Lela Rae Moore has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2014 semester. To attain this distinction, students must earn at least a 3.5 average on a 4.0 grading scale. Moore is the daughter of Sue Ellen and David Moore of Woodleaf. She is a graduate of West Rowan High School.

 

Hampden-Sydney College Dean’s List

Johnathan Campbell has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2014 semester. To earn this distinction, students must achieve at least a 3.3 semester grade point average out of a possible 4.0. Campbell is the son of Don & Sarah Campbell of Salisbury.

Local students awarded Dunbar School Alumni Heritage Scholarships

The Dunbar School Alumni Association recently presented three students with a $500 scholarship. This award is given to descendants of Dunbar School alumni who are current financial members of the group. The recipients are as follows:

  • Devan Corpening, a senior biology major at Winston Salem State University. Corpening is the granddaughter of association member Kathleen Corpening.
  • Kristen Suzette Johnson, a junior political science major at University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Johnson is the granddaughter of association president Benjamin Davis.
  • Sydney A. Tillman, a sophomore communications and public relations major at University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Tillman is the niece of association member Gretta Heath Saunders.

 

Elon University honors
