The Wilmington, N.C. Regional was very exciting for six of our regular NLM players searching for Gold and Red points. Judy Gealy, Carol Bachl, Fern Albracht, Pat Macon and Shirley and Ron Jeffers came home big winners. Congratulations all!!

Up until last Friday, Jan. 30, speed of play had been an issue. Thanks to all for playing faster. We got all hands played and scores were tabulated well before 5 p.m. The stress level was low, play was smooth, we were relaxed and still had fun.

I want to keep this pace in all games. To insure this, I will have to begin giving penalty points to those who hold us up on a regular basis. No one needs to be penalized. You all can keep up the pace without trouble.

Harold and Carol Winecoff had the best N/S score bidding 1NN making 2, while the best E/W score was made by Anita Graham and Georgia Sorensen who defeated their opponent’s 5CN 2 tricks.
