Fred Stamper and Edna Mae Royal Stamper of China Grove celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at a family dinner Jan. 24, 2015, with 30 guests at the home of daughter Nora Patterson. They were married Jan. 21, 1950, in Wilkes County.
Fred and Edna both retired from Cannon Mills, Fred in 1984 where he was a fixer, and Edna in 1994 where she was a supervisor.
Their children are Rick Stamper, Landis, Ronnie Stamper, Georgia, Randy Stamper, Salisbury, Pat Stamper Gaskins, Mooresville, Nora Stamper Patterson, China Grove, and the late Judy Stamper Gooch, who died in November 2014. The Stampers also have 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
